Suited & Connected Issue #23

Illuminating human relationship chemistry via the CROWNLINE Method

Welcome to the 23rd issue of Suited & Connected©! 😊😊😊

CROWNLINE Method, founded by Todd Anthony Person, examines individual birthdays and leverages the 52 playing cards deck to illuminate human relationship chemistry. The CROWNLINE Method fuses mathematics, numerology, deck of playing cards, astrology, neuroscience and psychology.

The deck of playing cards was originally used as a calendar: there are 52 cards representing the 52 weeks in the year. There are (4) suits representing the four seasons. Hearts representing Spring, Clubs representing Summer, Diamonds representing Fall and Spades representing Winter. Each season has (13) weeks, and each suit has thirteen cards. There are (12) Face cards and there are twelve months and (12) astrological signs. If you add up all the Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds, and Spades with Ace being (1) and King being (13) you get 364. Add December 31st being the day of 1 ¼ and you now get 365 ¼ days which is an entire year.

Todd has examined the human relationship chemistry and compatibility of individuals via their birthdays. By looking at how the cards align (or don’t align) of individuals in music, arts &entertainment, business, sports, and famous people/celebrities, Todd has identified a number of patterns that signal good things can happen when their cards align.

Card alignment can take different forms — exact same cards, matching one number, matching a same-suit, being suited and connected (e.g. 3Diamonds to 4Diamonds) in their first card called ‘the birth card’ or their second card known as “the astrological ruling card”. What is key to Todd’s analysis is that the patterns and corresponding ‘success or failure’ outcomes happen — over and over and over again. These outcomes pertain to heightened performance, fame, and other metrics associated with ‘success’, or catastrophe.

In this 23rd issue of Suited & Connected©, we examine one pattern in particular — when two individuals make a pair with either a matching card or number. The following individuals formed iconic brands that we encounter in our daily lives (Banking, Restaurants, Internet, Streaming Entertainment, and Music).

  1. A.P. Giannini, born May 6 & Orra E. Monnette, born April 12;  Founders of Bank of America

  2. Richard McDonald, born Feb. 16 & Maurice McDonald, born Nov 26; Founders of McDonald's

  3. David Filo, born April 20 & Jerry Yang, born Nov. 6; Founders of YAHOO!

  4. Reed Hastings, born Oct. 8 & Marc Randolph, born April 29; Founders of Netflix

  5. Mick Jagger, born July 26 & Keith Richards, born Dec. 18; Founders of The Rolling Stones

‘Kings of Banking’: (Left) Amadeo Peter (A.P.) Giannini , born May 6 is the King of Diamonds/4 of Clubs and (right) Orra E. Monnette, born Apr.12, is the 9 of Diamonds/King of Clubs. The two banking executives — Giannini from the Bank of Italy in the San Francisco Bay Area, and Monnette, heading up the Bank of America, Los Angeles, each had a “King” amongst their cards.

It’s a tale of two cities, two men — each bringing forth a bank — one from San Francisco, one from Los Angeles. And it’s also about these same two men who had the same number card (King), who would overcome near catastrophe to merge, creating one of the largest banks in the world.

The two men — A.P. Giannini, head of Bank of Italy in San Francisco and Orra E. Monette, head of Bank of America, Los Angeles, decided to merge to form Bank of America.

Giannini, a Northern Californian of Italian ancestry survived the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fires, with his bank’s gold safe in its vaults; he would subsequently loan monies to local San Francisco businesses to rebuild the city. Monnette had pieced together small financial institutions in Southern California to form the Bank of America, Los Angeles. And when the Depression came in the late 1920s, Giannini and Monnette realized that together they would succeed as a Bank.

Monette would die in 1936; when Giannini died in 1949, Bank of America had more than 500 branches and $6 billion in assets, earning the distinction of being the ‘largest bank in the world’.

Giannini and Monnette's collaboration was characterized by mutual respect, trust, and a shared dedication to excellence. They navigated the complexities of the merger process with a clear sense of purpose and determination, overcoming challenges and obstacles along the way. Their complementary skills and leadership styles proved instrumental in ensuring the success of the merger and laying the groundwork for the future growth and prosperity of the newly formed Bank of America.

Richard & Maurice McDonald — Founders of McDonald’s

Richard (left) and Maurice McDonald (right) founded McDonalds and licensed franchises —one of them to Ray Kroc, who would take McDonalds to unprecedented heights.

(Left) Richard McDonald, born Feb.16, is 9 of Diamonds/4 of Diamonds and (right) Maurice McDonald, born Nov.26 is 7 of Hearts/9 of Clubs. They both had same number (9).

McDonalds, the global fast-food empire synonymous with burgers, fries and golden arches, was founded by Richard (Dick) and Maurice (Mac) McDonald. The brothers’ journey into the fast-food industry began in 1940 when they opened a small barbecue restaurant in San Bernadino, Calif., called “McDonald’s Bar-B-Q.” However, it wasn’t until they streamlined their operation and pioneered the fast-food concept that the McDonald’s we know today truly took shape.

The success of their streamlined operation caught the attention of Ray Kroc, a multi-mixer salesman who became fascinated by the McDonald brothers' business model. In 1954, Kroc approached the McDonald brothers with a proposition to franchise their restaurant and expand the brand nationwide. The brothers agreed, and Kroc opened the first McDonald's franchise in Des Plaines, Illinois, in 1955. Over time, Kroc bought out the McDonald brothers' share of the company and assumed control of McDonald's Corporation.

While Ray Kroc is often credited with founding McDonald's Corporation and transforming it into a global phenomenon, it was the ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit of Richard and Maurice McDonald that laid the foundation for the company's success. Today, McDonald's operates thousands of restaurants worldwide, serving millions of customers each day and continuing to shape the fast-food industry with its iconic brand and enduring legacy.

Today, Yahoo! Inc. is a leading global Internet communications, commerce, and media company that offers a comprehensive branded network of services to more than 350 million individuals each month worldwide.

At the beginning of 1994 two Ph.D. candidates in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University—Jerry Chih-Yuan Yang (born Nov. 6, in Taipei, Taiwan) and David Robert Filo (born April 20 in Wisconsin) were looking for a single place to find useful Web sites and for a way to keep track of their personal interests on the Internet. As they didn’t manage to find such a tool, they decided to create their own. Thus the now ubiquitous web portal and global brand Yahoo! began as a student hobby and evolved into a site, that has changed how people communicate with each other and find and access information.

Filo and Yang started the realization of his project in a campus trailer in February 1994, and before long they were spending more time on their home-brewed lists of favorite links than on their doctoral dissertations. Eventually, Jerry and David’s lists became too long and unwieldy, and they broke them out into categories. When the categories became too full, they developed subcategories, thus the core concept behind Yahoo was born.

The Web site started out as Jerry and David’s Guide to the World Wide Web but eventually received a new moniker with the help of a dictionary. Filo and Yang decided to select the name Yahoo because they liked the general definition of the word (which comes from Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift, where a Yahoo is a legendary being): rude, unsophisticated, uncouth. Later the name Yahoo was popularized as an acronym for Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle.

In June 2017, Verizon Communications Inc. completed the acquisition of Yahoo. David Filo and Jerry Yang became billionaires a long time ago. As of 2022, the net worth of Filo is 3.2 billion USD, while Yang’s net worth is only 2.6 billion USD.

Oh, and the card alignment between Filo and Yang? IDENTICAL cards — Ace of Diamonds/3 of Clubs

Reed Hastings & Marc Randolph, Founders of Netflix

(Left) Reed Hastings & (Right) Marc Randolph

(Left) Reed Hastings. Oct. 8, Ace of Diamonds/5 of Hearts and (right) Marc Randolph  Apr. 29 is 5 of Clubs/Ace of Spades. Hastings and Randolph both have Aces and 5’s.

Netflix, the streaming giant that has revolutionized the way we consume entertainment, has a history marked by innovation and adaptation. Netflix was founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in Scotts Valley, California. Initially, it started as a DVD rental-by-mail service, offering a subscription-based model where customers could order DVDs online and have them delivered to their home.

In 2007, Netflix introduced its streaming service, allowing subscribers to instantly watch movies and TV shows on their computers. Over the next few years, Netflix expanded its streaming library and struck deals with major studios and content providers. The company also began producing original content, starting with the political drama "House of Cards" in 2013. Netflix rapidly expanded its streaming service internationally, launching in Canada in 2010 and subsequently in various countries around the world. By the mid-2010s, Netflix was available in over 190 countries, making it a truly global entertainment platform.

Netflix shifted its focus towards producing original content to differentiate itself from competitors and secure its position in the market. The company invested heavily in producing high-quality TV series, films, documentaries, and stand-up specials, leading to critical acclaim and numerous awards.

Mick Jagger & Keith Richards, The Rolling Stones Founders

(Left) Mick Jagger was born July 26, making him 2 of Clubs/8 of Hearts, (right) Keith Richards was born Dec. 18, making him the King of Heart/2 of Diamonds. Mick and Keith both have the number 2 card.

The formation of The Rolling Stones, one of the most iconic rock bands in history, is a tale steeped in friendship, shared passion for music, and serendipitous encounters. At its heart are Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, two childhood friends whose musical journey began in the early 1960s.

Mick was born July 26, making him 2 of Clubs/8 of Hearts; Keith was born Dec. 18, making him the King of Hearts/2 of Diamonds. They each have the number 2 and that shared number reflects their kindred spirit.

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards first crossed paths as classmates at Dartford Maypole County Primary School in Dartford, Kent, England. Despite their different backgrounds—Jagger hailing from a middle-class family and Richards from a working-class household—their mutual love for rhythm and blues brought them together.

The Rolling Stones' early years were marked by relentless touring, electrifying live performances, and a string of hit records that propelled them to international fame. Jagger and Richards emerged as the primary songwriting duo behind many of the band's most enduring classics, crafting anthems that captured the spirit of the times and resonated with generations of music lovers. Their enduring partnership, built on a foundation of friendship, creativity, and shared vision, remains the driving force behind The Rolling Stones' legendary status in the annals of rock and roll history.
